LORD OF THE RINGS. As well as being known for its lush landscapes in these films, New Zealand is considered the filmmaking gem of the Pacific. Rorotua in particular, boasts many Maori (polynesian) cultural houses, local tribes and activities, as well as hot springs. Making it a story telling delight!

Do you love photography? Do you long to photograph places faraway, and intensively dedicate yourself to a project? Perhaps you long for a gallery showing of your work? Join us and make your photography dreams come true!
MORNING: Partricipants will attend morning photography workshops, and work side-by-side with the photography facilitator to create a unique and themed project. Once completed, there will be a gallery showing of the participants' work, as well as an online gallery for friends around the world to view.
AFTERNOONS: Afternoons will be spent either volunteering or discovering the region, while working on your project. For those interested, volunteer opportunities are available with local grassroots organizations. The region boasts natural and cultural gems, which will lend nicely to phthotography. Along your journey you will be interacting with local people, leanring about indigenous Maori culture, and taking advantage of local adventures and extreme sports, as well as the geothermal pools and mud baths.
Photography
Are you novice filmmaker or actor? Or have you already worked on a few films? Do you crave the backdrop of a foreign and exotic location where you can make an original film or documentary? Somewhere new, where you can tell an original story? Then this is likely what you are looking for! This filmmaking adventure is for both pros and novices, and is tailored to individuals and groups. Filmmakers will be in groups of 5 maximum, and each group will make a short film, or in some cases work towards a feature film, and have their turn at several roles in front and/or behind the camera.
MORNING: Participants will attend morning workshops where they will learn filmmaking skills, and how to use the cameras and equipment on hand. Screenplays are written and come to life in these morning workshops, as does the filmmaking process.
AFTERNOON: Afternoons in the first week will be reserved for visiting the natural and cultural gems of Rotorua. Interacting with local people, discovering indigenous Maori culture, taking advantage of local adventures and extreme sports, and the geothermal pools and mud baths. After the first week, the afternoons will mainly be spent working on pre production, production and post production. For those intersted, there will be opportunities to volunteer in local grassroots organizations.
